Museum Opening URBAN NATION Museum for Urban Contemporary Art
On 16 September 2017, the URBAN NATION Museum for Urban Contemporary Art in Berlin-Schöneberg, Berlin’s first street art museum, was ceremoniously opened. For the first vernissage and exhibition, 145 artists from all over the world were invited and created unique artworks especially for this show. Among them were renowned artists such as Shepard Fairey, Olek, Lady Aiko and the world-famous Berlin graffiti crew 1UP. The first exhibition called UNique, UNited, UNstoppable combines different genres and techniques of Urban Contemporary Art. This gives the audience a deep insight into this multi-layered art form. URBAN NATION is a project of Stiftung Berliner Leben, a foundation of Gewobag AG.
