Housing Day 2018
For our client, GdW Bundesverband deutscher Wohnungs- und Immobilienunternehmen e.V., we designed a varied programme. For the Housing Day 2018, we artistically designed the guidance system and the reception counter. As an additional programme, the participants were able to take part in a tape art workshop with the Berlin artist Carolina Amaya, marvel at art in public space on an urban art tour by bus through Berlin and then enjoy a stroll through the premises of the URBAN NATION Museum for Urban Contemporary Art in Berlin-Schöneberg.
The two panels at the back and front of the reception counter form a coherent work of art that plays with the architecture of the space. Instead of obscuring the large staircase, the work blends in beneath it and reinforces its imposing monolithic character. At the same time, it is intended to stand out from the concrete structure of the building through striking colouring and clear geometries.
During a three-hour bus tour, the participants of the conference gained an insight into the facets of mural art in Berlin. They experienced exciting background information about artists, themes and the production of contemporary art on buildings. They passed by the city’s landmarks and the hidden highlights of urban art in Berlin.
